Creating your Vision Board
A Goal is just a Dream until you Write It Down
Once you write out your goals, you make them more real for you. What if you took it a step further? Vision Boards do just that.
A picture is worth 1000 words.
This affects how much more real we can make our goals. When setting your goals, it’s important not just to write them out using words, but to put yourself in the shoes of you in the future.
WHY?
The mind cannot tell the difference between reality and vivid images. When we build a vision board, you are creating those daily images to guide our conscious and subconscious decisions towards those goals.
Here’s how:
- Write out your goals – Know what you want to achieve and define it, this will help guide the next step
- Find inspiring images and phrases – the more personal the better. These images should invoke an emotional response when you see them, creating more stimulus for your brain. You can find them anywhere! Magazine, online images, or even your own personal photos.
- Create a college – Take these images and put them on a poster board in a creative way that has meaning for you. Take your time and make it personal.
- Review and update regularly – When complete you should hang your vision board somewhere you are going to see it every day. When you accomplish a goal, update the board.
Always set new and challenging goals for yourself to push yourself towards growth.
